Meet Joshua Phillips
Brilliant, young, autistic creator from Maine integrating AI into his workflows.
“A lot of things bring me joy, like music, video content, etc. I love making content for everyone to enjoy! Another thing that brings me joy is my family and friends and their support,” Joshua says. “I was diagnosed with Autism at a young age, specifically, Asperger’s syndrome.”
“My passions are making music, videos, websites, and so much more,” he says. “I’m currently working on an animated series with Chippy called “Storytime with Chippy” which you can find on Chippy's YouTube channel,” he says.
“I also work on the video version of Tina Tiresome’s “Prompt and Explore” series which you can find under her YouTube channel and on Instagram,” Joshua adds.
Learning Never Stops and the Toolbox Keeps Growing
Joshua is no stranger to learning new tools to accomplish his vision and tasks.
“I have a whole list of tools I currently use,” he says. “I use Adobe Premiere Pro to help create the “Storytime with Chippy” series and other video projects, Adobe Photoshop for making promotional content and resampling art.”
Joshua adds, “I also use GarageBand for making music under the DJ Chippy moniker. I use StarryAI, NightCafe, and MonAI for art generation for some parts of the series. I’ve used Midjourney before and it was incredible. I also use ChatGPT to help with my writing and it has impressed me!”
He notes, “I’m very interested in learning more about AI assisted animations. The kind that can transform the image into an animation. When I was introduced to that, I thought it looked very amazing!”
Generative Art and Creative Expansion
“Generative art means a whole lot to me as it changes the way we view art and how art works,” he says. “I’m particularly excited to see how video production efforts are enhanced and evolved alongside artificial intelligence developments.”
“Generative art has changed my life in more ways than one! Chippy brought me into the world of generative art and seeing how he is doing with social media connections and this Substack project made me think about integrating these types of techniques to my work too,” Joshua notes.
“I’ve learned a lot about expanding my creativity through many other fields besides video production. I’ve been getting into a little bit of animation and integrating AI tools into my work! It saves a lot of time, and it makes a huge impact,” Joshua adds.
“I don’t have any social media full of AI art of my own, but people like @purpleowl_art, @chippytheai, and @tina_tiresome have definitely impacted me and inspired me to integrate these AI art techniques into my work. Without them, I wouldn’t have known about this type of thing. To me, the AI art community is more than just generative art. It’s love,” he says.
“My goals with generative art are never ending,” Joshua says.
“I want to continue to integrate AI art into my work. I love making “Storytime with Chippy” and I also love the “Prompt and Explore” video series. My goal with those is to continue bringing happiness and joy to my work,” he says.
PROMPT CHALLENGE
“I want to see you all come up with a prompt that is related to old jokes.
For example… make a prompt about a chicken crossing a road, or an orange talking to a banana!”
